Day 2: Thu 23 Oct – Sydney to Bangkok

I slept well and was up early.  Checked out of the motel about 7:45am and walked to the airport. Check-in, customs and security were quick and painless. In no time at all we were sitting down to a nice coffee and cooked brekky at the Qantas Club.

Pulled back from the gate in an Airbus A330 nearly spot on time at 10:50am. The nine hour flight was pleasant enough. Watched The Trip to Italy, Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon, not too bad, bit of a foodie travelog, great scenery around that interesting country.

Actually touched down in Bangkok 30 minutes early, 4pm and had our luggage and cleared customs by 5pm.  We found our taxi man who Dave and Noy had organized to be next to gate 3 and were soon on our way to Pattaya. The speed limit was 90 but we cruised along at a very smooth 120km/h. About 1.5 hours later we pulled into Dave and Noy's place in a gated village a few kms out of Pattaya. Before I could do anything Noy had paid the taxi and he was gone.

What a beautiful house they live in, only 12 months old, 2 floors with a manicured garden, spar, fish ponds etc. Noy prepared us some lovely spaghetti Bolognese, which we ate with a Lion beer. It wasn't too long before Phil and I were nodding off.
